(See <a href=\"http:\/\/app.leg.wa.gov\/WAC\/default.aspx?cite=504-34-140\">WAC 504-34-140<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>See <a href=\"https:\/\/policies.wsu.edu\/prf\/index\/manuals\/business-policies-and-procedures-manual\/bppm-20-42\/\">UPPM 20.42<\/a> for policies and procedures regarding permanent exterior signage.<\/p>\n<p>See <a href=\"https:\/\/policies.wsu.edu\/prf\/index\/manuals\/business-policies-and-procedures-manual\/bppm-20-39\/\">UPPM 20.39<\/a> for policies and procedures regarding postings.<\/p>\n<h3>2.0&nbsp; Applicability<a name=\"Two_0\"><\/a><\/h3>\n<p>This policy applies to all employees, departments, student organizations, and locations &nbsp;systemwide.<\/p>\n<h3>3.0&nbsp; Responsibilities<a name=\"Three_0\"><\/a><\/h3>\n<h4>3.1&nbsp;&nbsp; Standards and Approvals<a name=\"Three_1\"><\/a><\/h4>\n<p>The following entities are responsible for signage standards and approvals for each campus, as appropriate:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>WSU Pullman: WSUP Facilities Services and the Architectural Review Committee<\/li>\n<li>WSU Spokane: WSUS Facilities Operations and\/or the WSUS Chancellor&#8217;s Office<\/li>\n<li>WSU Tri-Cities: WSUTC Facilities Services<\/li>\n<li>WSU Vancouver: Finance and Operations<\/li>\n<li>WSU Everett: WSUE Facilities<\/li>\n<li>WSU Research and Extension Centers: CAHNRS Operations<strong style=\"font-size: inherit\">&nbsp;<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>3.2&nbsp;&nbsp; Sign Management<a name=\"Three_2\"><\/a><\/h4>\n<p>The requesting department or organization is responsible for correct placement, management, timely removal, and return of any rented sign frames in accordance with the approved sign placement plan.<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>4.0&nbsp; Requirements<a name=\"Four_0\"><\/a><\/h3>\n<h4>4.1&nbsp;&nbsp; Standards<a name=\"Four_1\"><\/a><\/h4>\n<p>Sign panels must meet signage standards of the WSU Facilities Services Exterior Signage Design Standards for Temporary Signage (<a href=\"https:\/\/facilities.wsu.edu\/design-standards\/\">Design Standards<\/a> Division 10 14 13, Section 7.0). Signage content must be approved by WSU Marketing and &nbsp;Communications.<\/p>\n<h4>4.2&nbsp;&nbsp; Noncompliant Signs<a name=\"Four_2\"><\/a><\/h4>\n<p>Temporary movable signs not displayed in accordance with this policy and procedure and the plan approved by the&nbsp; appropriate campus entity may be removed. Any costs associated with such removal are billed to the department\/organization that placed the sign.<\/p>\n<h3>5.0&nbsp; Procedures<a name=\"Five_0\"><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>Employees and departments are to observe the following procedures when placing and managing temporary signage.<\/p>\n<h4>5.1&nbsp;&nbsp; Sign Request<a name=\"Five_1\"><\/a><\/h4>\n<p>Any temporary signage request needs to be approved by the appropriate campus entity:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>WSU Pullman: WSUP Facilities Services; telephone 509-335-9000; and the Architectural Review Committee<\/li>\n<li>WSU Spokane: WSUS Facilties Operations; telephone 509-358-7994<\/li>\n<li>WSU Tri-Cities: WSUTC Facilities Services; e-mail <a href=\"mailto:tricities.facilities@wsu.edu\">tricities.facilities@wsu.edu<\/a><\/li>\n<li>WSU Vancouver:\n<ul>\n<li>Office of Student Involvement for student clubs and events; telephone 360-546-9163; e-mail <a href=\"mailto:van.osi@wsu.edu\">van.osi@wsu.edu<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Finance and Operations for non-student signage; telephone 360-546-9598; e-mail <a href=\"mailto:van.vcfo@wsu.edu\">van.vcfo@wsu.edu<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>WSU Everett: WSUE Facilities; telephone 425-315-4014<\/li>\n<li>WSU Research and Extension Centers: <a href=\"https:\/\/operations.cahnrs.wsu.edu\/\">CAHNRS Operations<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Contact WSU Design and Printing Services for sign design and fabrication; website <a href=\"https:\/\/printing.wsu.edu\/contact\/\">printing.wsu.edu\/contact\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>5.2&nbsp;&nbsp; Sign Placement Plan<a name=\"Five_2\"><\/a><\/h4>\n<p>Generally, movable temporary signs may be placed in campus locations to support University departments and programs.<\/p>\n<p>Before a sign is placed, the department is to request review of the sign placement plan by the appropriate campus entity.
