See<a href=\"https:\/\/policies.wsu.edu\/prf\/index\/manuals\/business-policies-and-procedures-manual\/bppm-30-07\/\"> UPPM 30.07<\/a> and the applicable<a href=\"https:\/\/confluence.esg.wsu.edu\/display\/WKB\/Workday+Materials\"> Workday reference guides<\/a> (Internal Service Delivery, Customer Payment and Create Customer Deposit).<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"Two_0\">2.0 Definition<\/h3>\n<p>Revenue category codes are numeric designations which identify types of revenue, e.g., RC0039 (Late Fees).<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"Three_0\">3.0 Revenue Category Code Number Assignment<\/h3>\n<h4 id=\"Three_1\">3.1 New Revenue Categories<\/h4>\n<p>The state of Washington and the Controller&#8217;s Office assign revenue category worktags for University use. A University vendor department requiring a new revenue category worktag to define a revenue type submits a request memorandum to the General Accounting Section of the Controller&#8217;s Office. The memorandum includes the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A clear, concise definition of the type of revenue.<\/li>\n<li>A brief explanation of why an existing revenue category worktag does not adequately describe the revenue type.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If the request is approved, Controller&#8217;s Office personnel assign a new worktag and add it to the master worktag list. The requesting vendor department is immediately notified of the new revenue category worktag.<\/p>\n<h5 id=\"Three_1_a\">3.1.a Deleting Revenue Categories<\/h5>\n<p>Notify the Controller&#8217;s Office when a given revenue category worktag is no longer required. Route a written request to the General Accounting Section that the worktag be deleted.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"Four_0\">4.0 Complete Listing<\/h3>\n<p>Refer to Workday for a complete list of valid revenue categories.
