University Records Retention Schedule
The University records retention schedule includes records series that are held by two or more departments/units in the WSU system. The department records retention schedules include records series that are held by only one department/unit in the WSU system.
Superseding the retention schedule – If an audit, legal action, or public records request is in progress, related records may not be disposed of even when authorized by the retention schedule. See UPPM 30.12 and 30.14 regarding audits. See UPPM 90.05 regarding public records requests and 90.12 regarding litigation holds.

Legacy Records — The records in this table are discontinued. The unit identified as the official record holder is responsible for maintaining the records until the end of the stated retention period.
