UPPM 10.08 CougarCard
This proposed revision:
- Updates qualifying parties and uses of cards; and
- Adds requirements for CougarCard access to buildings.
UPPM 45.30 Responding to Allegations of Research Misconduct
This proposed revision:
- Adds information on the “subsequent use exception”;
- Updates the list of relevant definitions;
- Requires written determination from Deciding Official;
- Expands sponsor, federal sponsor, and additional respondent notification requirements;
- Adds individual requirement for reporting potential research misconduct;
- Clarifies joint proceedings;
- Updates confidentiality requirements and “need to know” qualifications;
- Adds “substantially equivalent” requirement for sequestered records;
- Adds requirements for list of records and investigation documents that must be filed with the ORI upon conclusion of an investigation, including when the research has a federal sponsor;
- Adds federal sponsor notification requirements for special circumstances; and
- Increases the investigation timeline from 120 to 180 calendar days.
UPPM 50.20 Access to University Facilities
This proposed revision:
- Includes CougarCard access methods and requirements; and
- Adds “expulsion or termination in addition to possible arrest and/or criminal trespass” as possible penalties for unauthorized access.
UPPM 50.24 After-Public-Hours Use of University Buildings
This proposed revision:
- Clarifies options for security response to unauthorized access; and
- Calls for information from CAHNRS representatives for a section on research centers and extension locations.
UPPM 60.26 Temporary Employment Program
This proposed revision adds the required number of enrolled hours for graduate students, for purposes of employment.
UPPM 60.38 Notice of Faculty or Staff Departure–Vacating University Areas
This proposed revision:
- Updates titles and resource links throughout;
- Adds examples and references to materials and relevant policies; and
- Clarifies responsibility for the proper removal and disposal of radioactive, hazardous, and biohazardous materials and potential fees.
UPPM 60.56 Faculty and Administrative Professional Personnel Leave
This proposed revision:
- Adds the purpose of the policy and a list of contents;
- Defines “family member”;
- Includes specific timeframes for LWOP, FML, and Military Leave use;
- Updates requirements for use of leave based on current WAC language;
- Clarifies prorated accrual for all types of leave;
- Expands circumstances for required allowed leave and FML;
- Specifies regulations for extended emergency leave and FML;
- Includes “maintaining benefits eligibility” in all uses of extended leave; and
- Adds “hate crime” to Section 23.0 and expands the applicability and requirements.
UPPM 60.57 Civil Service Employee Leave
This proposed revision:
- Updates requirements for confirming time worked;
- Includes nonpermanent employees;
- Clarifies proportionate accumulation of time off for part-time employees;
- Clarifies recourse for leave accumulation exceeding 280 hours;
- Updates process for continuing benefits in cases of extended LWOP or disability leave;
- Includes leave accumulation calculation for nonscheduled nonpermanent employees;
- Adds leave options for victims or families of victims of hate crimes; and
- Updates language, links, and citations throughout.
UPPM 80.56 Minor Construction, Renovation, Remodeling, and Demolition
This proposed revision clarifies the processes for requesting construction, renovation, remodeling, and demolition of campus buildings.
UPPM 87.01 WSU Information Security Roles, Responsibilities, and Definitions
This proposed revision updates the roles, responsibilities, definitions and acronyms, and requirements regarding employee training and policy violations related to the management of WSU information security.
UPPM 90.06 Release of Student Education Records
This proposed revision uses information from WAC 504-21 to:
- Clarify exceptions to types of educational records;
- Expand information on student access;
- Update conditions for the release waiver to include acceptable forms of ID;
- Expands list of exceptions to student consent for release; and
- Highlight the 3-year renewal requirement of FERPA training.
UPPM 95.53 International Travel
This proposed revision:
- Clarifies the process and individual requirements for requesting travel;
- Adds required dean approval for international travel requests;
- Adds that non-approved international travel may not get reimbursed; and
- Updates information on high-risk travel determination.
SPPM 4.26 Disposal of Laboratory Glass Waste
This proposed revision:
- Removes responsibility of custodial and solid waste disposal employees;
- Updates disposal container use;
- Removes unnecessary processes relating to custodial and solid waste disposal employees; and
- Updates contact information and links throughout.
