This SPPM revision includes the following changes:

Requirements for Driving Vehicles on University Business 7.10

This revision:

  • Adds a note clarifying that individuals receiving nonservice payments are not employees. The Controller advises that these individuals not be allowed to drive state- or privately-owned vehicles for University business.
  • Updates the definitions list and clarifies the definition of “student” by moving requirements regarding students that are currently provided in several places in the section. The applicable requirements are moved, but not changed otherwise.
  • Clarifies the driving prohibitions to move two of the most critical under the Authorization subsection.
  • Clarifies the departmental retention requirements regarding driver documentation.
  • Removes van training resources provided by Motor Pool. All van training is provided through HRS Learning and Development.
  • Updates links and references in accordance with current practices, including updating the name of Travel Services to Payment Services.
