SPPM Revision #149

This SPPM revision includes the following changes.

2.16 Safety Orientation & Training

This revision incorporates key information from SPPM 2.18 Safety Training and updates the name, required training, and procedures.

SPPM 2.18 Safety Training is now retired. 

2.20 Responding to an Injury Incident

This revision:

  • Updates expectations when calling 911 for an injured party;
  • Prohibits volunteer transport of an injured party; and
  • Incorporates key information from SPPM 2.22 Requesting an Ambulance. 

SPPM 2.22 Requesting an Ambulance is now retired.

2.26 Investigating Accidents and Workplace Safety Conditions

This revision:

  • Adds process for investigating other workplace safety conditions and changes the name of the policy to “Investigating Accidents and Workplace Safety Conditions”;
  • Updates the process and roles for investigating accidents; and
  • Updates routing of copies of Supervisor’s Accident Investigation Report (PDF).

2.42 First Aid Kits

This revision updates the requirements for purchasing and maintaining first-aid kits and related supplies.

2.44 Bloodborne Pathogens

This revision:

  • Adds students in clinical health professional programs;
  • Updates requirements and responsibilities for departments;
  • Expands section on vaccinations; and
  • Adds Cougar Health Services as a responsible department for blood-spill reporting and cleanup.

6.50 Drinking Water Systems

This revision:

  • Includes definitions and responsibilities;
  • Adjusts the processes and requirements for planning and construction;
  • Updates links throughout; and
  • Updates and condenses contact information throughout.
